DSCN0044.JPGOn my travels across mainland Europe I"ve stayed in Hotels and Hostals.--- Back home in Britain i"ve stayed in hotels and B&Bs------B&Bs are Bed and Breakfast places usually in peoples homes. Another description of B&Bs is Guest House these are mainly larger buildings with more rooms to let.---The last B&B i stayed in was in Porthmadog Wales . The lovely couple let just one room. The room was everything but no ensuite, these were shared by using the proprietors facility . Most B&B s have ensuite., and are star rated like hotels. Breakfast was a full Welsh cooked breakfast with 8 items. This set me up for the day.---The cooked breakfast is called a full English in England, also a full Scottish in Scotland. Continental breakfasts are usually available.---Some B&B s are on line, and can be booked that way, most are just turn up. The seaside resorts like Scarborough, Blackpool, Brighton etc have loads of places, in other towns they are mainly on the the roads entering the town, but can be anywhere. The one in Porthmadog was in a side street of the town main shopping street. Also the proprietors are a mine of local information.--- A friend of mine from Virtual Tourist days said to me that he always chose B&Bs because of the friendliness of the people who run them. B&Bs are mostly cheaper than hotels but not always.---A tip to find B&B s is look for small signs on houses.---Some B&B s you just have access to your room and breakfast room, others you can sit in gardens and lounges.
